Christmas Crime: Vandal Slices Through Strands of Outdoor Lights

A Tinley Park homeowner wants to press charges against whomever is responsible for cutting his Christmas lights.

A vandal cut through multiple strands of Christmas lights at a Tinley Park home, according to a report.

The damage happened sometime between 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 3 and 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, the Tinley Park police report states.

Police said the homeowner, who lives in the 19300 block of South Cormoy, would press charges if the vandal was caught.

Cops noticed that several clean cuts were made to the damaged strands, ruling out the possibility of wild animals, the report states. Cost to replace the lights is estimated at $100.
