Concert Tickets: Tallying Summer Citations (June 26)

Keep track with Tinley Park Patch as the drinking tickets and other citations pour in for young adults trying to sneak a cold one or get into other mischief at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. This week's event: a Luke Bryan concert.

Summer is the season that tends to bring out the urge to have some fun while the weather is nice. And that urge can go hand in hand with poor judgment.

One spot in Tinley Park where people like to have fun is checking out a concert at First Midwest Bank Amphitheater. And while the majority of people who attend events are well-behaved (except those rowdy Yo-Yo Ma fans), some can act in an unacceptable manner. This summer, Patch will be keeping tracking of select citations handed out by the Tinley Park Police Department at the venue during concerts. It's something we like to call the Concert Tickets. It's not something you want to pick up at the box office.

LUKE BYRAN CONCERT (JUNE 15)

Battery: Jacob D. R. Thorson, 27, of the 1900 block of Conway Lane in Aurora, was charged with battery, according to a report. A security officer was clearing out a crosswalk full of people at the venue at about 11:15 p.m. when he felt a sharp pain in his lower back caused by someone punching him. Thorson, the alleged puncher, was taken to the security office. He told police he didn't remember punching anyone but that he would apologize, anyway. He is due on July 17 in Bridgeview court.

Battery: An 18-year-old Wilmington woman allegedly was punched in the head at the concert while in the venue's lawn area, according to a report. Kaitlyn T. Simon, 24, of the 11200 block of Moraine Drive in Palos Hills, was charged with battery. The woman reportedly fell to the ground and was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields for treatment. Simon admitted to throwing the punch but said she was only defending herself. She is due on July 17 in Bridgeview court.

Criminal Trespass: An 18-year-old Elmhurst man allegedly climbed a fence to re-enter the concert after he was kicked out. The man appeared to be drunk when police spoke with him at about 8:30 p.m., according to a report. He told police he drank several beers in a short period of time. Amphitheater security confirmed that the man had been ejected for drinking. He was cited for criminal trespass and underage drinking, which are local ordinance tickets. Police said the teen waited for his uncle to pick him up in the security office.
