Cop Tases DUI Offender after Foot Chase

Steven Schade Jr., of Frankfort, ran from police after being curbed for drunken driving, according to police.

A Frankfort man who evaded police was Tased after fleeing on foot from police in an apartment complex parking lot, according to Tinley Park police. 

Steven Schade Jr., 30, of Frankfort, was charged with drunken driving, running a stop sign, improper lane use, speeding and fleeing police after being stopped March 28.

Schade Jr. reportedly was seen swerving, and varying speed, also almost running head-on into an oncoming vehicle, according to reports. He circled through an apartment parking lot in the 17400 block of 70th Avenue before almost striking a marked squad and parking. 

Police said Schade Jr. then got out of the car and fled on foot, with his left hand in his pocket. Police ordered him to remove his hand from the pocket, but he refused, according to reports. He then tossed his keys from his pocket, just before the officer deployed his stun gun. 

Schade Jr. was handcuffed and taken to the police department, where he refused field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests. Schade Jr. has two previous DUI arrests.
