Cops Reportedly Find Teen With Marijuana 'Wax'

Police accused a teen of pot possession after they found him in an idle car with a strange substance, reports said.

An officer who approached an idle vehicle in last month said a teen inside had in his possession a yellow, waxy substance that contains high amounts of THC, commonly found in marijuana.

The car was parked, running idle on 67th Court around 10:30 p.m. June 22 with a can of Bud Light on the ground outside its driver's side door, the report said. Officers said Sean M. Rady, 19, of the 17900 block of South Highland Avenue was in the driver's seat of the 2000 Buick Century.

"I asked Rady what he was doing in the area and Rady responded that he was waiting for friends to come out of a nearby residence," the report said. "I observed Rady's eyes to be bloodshot and glassy."

His pupils were "pinpoint," the officer wrote in the report and he was physically shaking. Asked if he was OK, he told the officer he was nervous, the report said. He denied drinking but admitted to the officer treat he was high and had "wax" in his pocket.

"Due to my training, I knew that 'wax' was a street term for concentrated THC that is derived from cannabis," the officer wrote, adding that a clear plastic jar containing the yellowish, sticky substance was found on Rady. A pipe used to ingest it was in the trunk, said.

He reportedly told police that he personally makes the wax because "it's something to do," and it "gets you high for longer."

Rady was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
