Cops Ticket 7-Eleven Cashier, Man Suspects Plant Sabotage, and More

Also in police reports dated July 26, 28-29 and 31, someone eggs a 63-year-old's home and a man is arrested on a warrant for escaping, obstructing justice and resisting arrest.

TUESDAY, JULY 31

Man Suspects Plant Sabotage

A man went to the around 1:40 p.m. to report that he believed someone had been spraying chemicals and diesel fuel on his property to make the plants and grass die. He brought photos to police, one showing a tree in his yard that had its top cut off, and another, a tree with leaves "prematurely changing color." The man said that he's been experiencing the vandalism for several years.

Someone Eggs Woman's Home

A 63-year-old woman living in the 16200 block of South Ozark Avenue in called the cops around 11:50 a.m. to report that someone had thrown several eggs at her home. The eggs were peppered across the home's aluminum siding, police said.

"The eggs appeared to be thrown from the Helen Keller Elementary School property, located directly behind the complaintant's residence," the report said. Someone threw them between 3 p.m. July 26 and 11 a.m. July 29, according to police.

Warrant Arrest

  • Thomas M. Donegan, 46, of the 13000 block of Meadow View Lane in Lockport, was arrested around 2:40 a.m. in the 6900 block of Lexington Court in Tinley Park on a failure-to-appear warrant out of the Orland Park Police Department. 
  • Andrew B. Edborg, 23, of the 13100 block of Sheridan Road in Blue Island, was arrested around 1:20 a.m. in the 18500 block of North Creek Drive in Tinley Park on a failure-to-appear warrant for obstructing a peace officer. His bail was set at $3,500, according to the report. 

SATURDAY, JULY 28 

Escape, Obstructing, Resisting

Police arrested Michael G. Smith, 21, of the 2700 block of Salix Circle in Naperville, around 5 a.m. in Orland Park on warrant out of the Tinley Park Police Department for reckless driving, aggravated assault, resisting/obstructing a peace officer and escape. Additional information was not immediately available.

THURSDAY, JULY 26

Cops Ticket 7-Eleven Cashier

Police cited a 22-year-old Tinley Park man with a local ordinance violation for selling alcohol to a minor. They had an underage person who was working with police enter the 7-Eleven at 17055 Oak Park Ave., around 10:40 p.m. and buy a Four Loko liquor, the report said. The underage customer was not carded at the counter, police said.
