were called to a local subdivision last month after an early morning McDonald's run reportedly ended in destruction.
Officers drove to the area of Pine Lake Drive and Dearborn Court around 8 a.m. May 11 for a report of a downed mailbox, they said. When they got there, they found two people standing in the backyard of one of the homes, the report said.
One of them was Suzume Kisaragi, 27, of the 6400 block of West 181st Place in . Police asked the duo if they'd seen who hit the mailbox, which was lying face-down in the street.
"They both appeared confused," an officer wrote, in the report.
The man Kisaragi was with said his vehicle was in the garage and police asked if they could look at it. They said they found damage on the back of the car.
"(He) related that he was not driving the vehicle when it struck the mailbox, Suzume was the driver," the report said. " … Suzume advised that (he) was too drunk to drive so she drove his vehicle to McDonald's at 2:30 a.m. Suzume related that she had been drinking as well but she didn't want (him) to get a DUI."
Suzume was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license.
