Couple Brings Syringe, Xanax, Heroin Residue to McDonald's 'Drug Deal,' Cops Say

A man and woman who have been arrested in Tinley Park together before were nabbed again over the weekend after police said they got a tip about a potential drug deal at McD's.

After being tipped off over the weekend to a potential heroin transaction at McDonald's, police arrested two who they said are no strangers to being in custody.

Samantha M. Giles and Jean-Francois M. Deleon, both 19 and listed as living in the 8900 block of Beacon Court in Orland Hills, were arrested around 9:20 p.m. at the McDonald's on Harlem Avenue in . The cops were told by someone who overheard a conversation between the pair that the restaurant could be a venue for a drug deal, according to the report.

They tracked down a vehicle there that matched the description given by the caller, they said, and stopped the driver, later identified as Giles. Her passenger was reportedly Deleon. Police said they spotted a prescription bottle on the floor in the vehicle and Giles agreed to let them search the car.

The bottle reportedly contained 17 Xanax pills. Deleon said they were his and that he didn't have a prescription for them, the report said. He also had an active warrant for . He was processed on the warrant and additionally charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Police said they found Giles with $427 cash, a piece of paper that looked like a handwritten financial ledger, baggies with heroin residue inside them and a hypodermic needle. She told police she shares the purse with friends and the bags may be theirs, the report said.

She also noted that she's a pizza delivery driver and the cash consisted of her tips, according to police. She later admitted to doing some "drug running" for a man known only to her as "Mack," according to the report.

She said she no longer uses heroin but owes Mack money and is fulfilling that debt by collecting from drug buyers. Giles was charged with possession of a hypodermic needle.

. They told police at that time that they were stealing to "get money for their heroin medicine," according to the report.

, after she reportedly stashed several pieces of copper tubing inside a large purse while perusing aisles at Menard's, police said. The items were priced at $265.66, according to the report.
