Court Watch: Former State Trooper Denied Bail on Murder Charge

Also, the owner of a Tinley Park animal rescue and sanctuary is found guilty on eight violation of owner's duties charges.

Cook County

CHICAGO HEIGHTS -- 

Dennis Joyner, 60, of Park Forest will remain in jail after being charged killing a man over a rental dispute. Judge Douglas J. Simpson denied Dennis Joyner bail after Joyner was charged with first-degree murder by the State's Attorney's office. Cook County prosecutors say , 40, at a Mobil gas station in Chicago Heights. 


He will be back in court on Oct. 3.

OAK FOREST — Former Chicago Cop Accused of Wife's Murder Has Another Continuance

Norberto Rodriguez has been in custody since 2010, . The former Chicago cop and Oak Forest native will be back in court on Oct. 15 in the Markham courthouse. 

OAK LAWN — Oak Lawn Man  gets continuance

James West, 26, will be back in court in November on charges that he solicited a 16-year-old girl for sex with his girlfriend, Lauren Papiez. Papiez, 21, . West is scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 1.

ORLAND PARK -- Man Accused of Stalking, Child Porn Gets Hearing for Next Month

James Shaver, the Orland Park man accused of , had a status hearing this week and will be back in a Bridgeview courtroom on Oct. 29. Shaver is accused of stalking two girls, 9 and 11, and having child pornographic images on his cell phone.

ORLAND PARK --  Back in Court

Four men charged with felonies in connection with the  are scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 18. 

According to police, Antoinne Kelly and Charles Harper entered the store posing as customers and tied the store’s employee and owner with duct tape. A third man, Darrin Carter, entered and helped gather an undisclosed amount of jewelry before splitting up into two cars, one driven by Lance Vaughn, police said. All four men remain in custody.

PALOS - Man Charged in Fatal DUI Back in Court

Sam Cafi, the Palos man charged more than 100 counts of aggravated homicide in a fatal DUI, will be back in court in October. Cafi, 28, also has one count of reckless homicide  in connection to the March 10 crash that killed 28-year-old Ryan Osowski of Darien and injured three others.


TINLEY PARK -- Jury Finds Owner of Animal Rescue Guilty on 8 of 10 Charges

A jury of seven men and five women found Dawn Hamill, owner of Dazzle's Painted Pastures Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, guilty of eight counts of violation of owner's duties and not guilty on two counts of animal neglect. The charges stemmed from a 2011 raid on .

Someone from the village saw my sign and has informed me that the village will be putting up speed limit signs and caution - kids playing signs this week. Good luck!!
