Cracker Barrel 'Pervert' Served Trespass Warning

A regular at Cracker Barrel in Tinley Park was recently asked to never return to the restaurant, thanks to his propensity to share dirty jokes and comments with the waitresses there, police said.

said they recently issued a trespass warning to a 76-year-old local man who employees at the Cracker Barrel commonly refer to as "pervert."

The man was dining at the restaurant, 18531 North Creek Drive in , between 6:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Aug. 17, the report said. He made an inappropriate joke during that time to a staff member and a manager said it wasn't the first time the man had said something "off color." The joke wasn't listed in the police report report.

A manager confronted the man and told him he was no longer welcome there, to which he reportedly said, "I've been eating here since before you were born and you can't stop me from coming here …" He also told the manager he would return with his friends "who are bikers," police said.

The manager followed the man out of the restaurant and gave his license plate to police.

When they found him in his 169th Street apartment to issue him the no trespassing notice, he said he was wondering what took them so long, according to the report.

Must be a slow day. Seriously - over a joke. What a waste of resources.

Sure, it seems like it is only a simple joke. We don't know how many previous times he was in there telling inappropriate jokes and was warned by management. You also have families with kids usually at nearby tables. Bottom line is that if the waitress is offended by the jokes then yes it is not ok for even an old man to get away with this type of behavior.

That's a shame. People are way too sensitive today. The guy is 76 for goodness sake. I can't believe some of the things I hear people complain about. "Hey beautiful, I think we're ready to order." Would you rather they said, "Hey you ugly POS can you get me something to eat?" When did Americans become so uptight??? RELAX people. Live is too short to focus on stupid things.

This has nothing to do with being uptight or not. It's about manners and respect. If you are not friends with the waitress or at a minimum have had numerous conversations in the past and know for sure that person appreciates good dirty jokes then ask if it's ok before telling the joke. I certainly don't mind a good dirty joke, but many people do mind, especially in a public work setting like a restaurant.

my sister works at cracker barrel and was there when this happened. she heard the joke the said and told me. you decide if it offensive....he hold the waitress..." a woman wanted to get a sexy outfit to surprise her husband with on the eve of their 50th wedding anniversary. so she bought a outfit that consisted of a mask, a cape and a pair of crotchless panties. that evening when her husband was in bed reading the paper she put on the outfit, walked to the front of the bed, flipped open the cape and exclaimed...super p*ssy! her husband looked over the top of his newspaper at her and said....i'll take the soup."

Yep, it was a funny joke but it was still inappropriate for the situation especially since he had been told before by management.

The government did not infringe on his freedom of speech. Figure out what the first amendment means. Just saying!

A citizen filed a complaint. The police did their job and acted on it. The police did not do anything to instigate this action. Jeez. Pay attention. Just saying.

Ted, do you understand anything about respect? Do you understand anything about the first amendent? People do not have to tolerate someone telling them dirty jokes that contains a word that does still in this day and age offend some women. Do you tell dirty jokes to strangers, that is what was done here? She took exception to it and told her manager. It turns out this guy was warned before about doing this. You really can't see the difference in telling a dirty joke to friends or family versus telling it to a complete stranger. Yes, it would have been a little too much with no being allowed to come back to the restaurant if this was the first instance, but this is not the case. It could have ben the second, third or even more times that he did this, we don't know.
