Fire Damaged Tinley Park Home Saturday Morning

No one was injured though the fire caused substantial damage.

A fire caused heavy damage to a Tinley Park house Saturday morning, but no was injured, fire officials said.

The was called about a fire at 16431 Leslie Ann Drive around 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Early scanner reports indicated that the fire started on a deck behind the house, though the actual cause of the fire is still under investigation, Tinley Park Fire Chief Ken Dunn said.

“Flames got up to the roof and overhangs, causing a good amount of damage,” Dunn said.

Firefighters contained the fire in about an hour, along with support from Homer Glen, Orland, Midlothian, Frankfort and Oak Forest firefighters. Residents were home when the fire started, but were able to get out without being injured, Dunn said.

None of the surrounding homes were damaged.

The house’s garage was boarded up and repair work appeared to have begun on the roof Saturday afternoon.
