Fire Forces Family of Four Out of Tinley Park Townhouse

No one was hurt in a blaze that burned the second floor of a townhouse on Brementowne Drive, a Tinley Park fire official said.

A family of four was forced to flee late Wendesday night from a fire that started near a bedroom in their Tinley Park home.

No one was injured but the second floor of their townhouse in the 6800 block of Brementowne Drive sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, a Tinley Park fire official said. The first floor of the home also was damaged by water and smoke.

The fire left the townhouse uninhabitable for the family, Sun-Times Media reports.

Firefighters responded to a call at about 9:57 p.m. and fire showing through the second-floor bedroom windows, Tinley Park Fire Chief Kenneth Dunn told Patch. Crews had it under control within 15 minutes of arriving.

The cause of the Wednesday night blaze remains under investigation. Investigators believe it started in the area of one of the bedrooms.

The two-story townhouse is attached to other units but no other townhouses were damaged by the fire.
