Granite Counters, Cabinets Missing; Thief Hits up Steak 'n Shake

TUESDAY, JUNE 12

Granite Counter tops, Cabinets Missing

Police were dispatched around 3 p.m. to a foreclosed upon home in the 7100 block of 168th Street in . A mortgage specialist at the home told police that sometime between May 31 and June 4, someone stole kitchen cabinets and granite counter tops from the home.

The cost to replace the materials, according to the specialist, would be around $25,000. He said he believes the home's former owner may have sold the items after the bank had foreclosed on the home. No forced entry was made to the home, according to the report, and the former owner had legal access to be in the home during the time of the theft.

FRIDAY, JUNE 8

Spilling in the Roadway

Police arrested Efrain Ascencio-Ortega, 30, of the 700 block of North Hickory Street in Joliet, around 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of 80th Avenue and 175th Street in Tinley Park. They said he was driving a black Dodge pickup truck that was not properly secured, leading items from the bed of the truck to fall into the street. He was charged with driving with a suspended license and spilling what he was transporting into the roadway.

THURSDAY, JUNE 7

Warrant Arrest

Tadeusz Bebenek, 28, of the 10100 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue in Shiller Park, was arrested around 10:45 p.m. at the , 7850 W. 183rd Street, on an active warrant. 

MONDAY, JUNE 4

Thief Hits up Steak 'n Shake

A woman called th cops around 3:20 a.m. to report that someone used her credit card to buy a double cheeseburger, fries and a drink at Steak 'N Shake in Tinley Park. The purchase was $7.57, according to the report, and the woman plans to sign a complaint.
