So.. The schools are responsible for teaching kids how to eat, drink, bathe, drive, have sex etc but they are not responsible for teaching them the difference between right and wrong. OK. NOW I get it. Thanks for the clarification.

Added prayers for all affected by this incident. Although we read about these events city/state/nation/world-wide, I believe it is important to know that this can and does happen "right in my own back yard". It gives me an opportunity to discuss how the real world is to my emerging adult. I feel somehow also responsible as I am part of this community which has failed some youths omong us. We could certainly all stop and take a look inside to see what more we can do for our children.

Not true! You make blanket accusations without knowing anything. Jordan Wilkerson was brought up in a christian family with respect and moral character. He also attended a christian school and was taught the difference between right and wrong. I'm not condoning what he did, but I know his family well. I knew the young man. What I don't know is what happened the last couple of years. He was most definitely not anything like this prior to moving to chicago. Somewhere, something, somebody changed this young man into something nobody that knew him recognizes. His family, and friends of the family are just as shocked and saddened as the Indiana community that this has happened. I realize you're upset about this, and well deserved, but you are absolutely wrong in your characterization of at least one of the backgrounds for these young men. Get your facts straight.

I know Jordan's parents, his dad very well. It doesn't surprise me at all that Jordan would end up making such a poor decision given the examples that have been set before him over the years. " just because you are a character, doesn't mean you have character"
