Chicago Heights Woman's Rings Disappear At Work

A 19-year-old Chicago Heights woman lost two gold-and-diamond rings while at work, according to a Tinley Park Police report. She told police she removed the rings while at her work station at Regency Beauty, 15931 Harlem Ave. The woman knocked the rings to the ground but didn’t pick them up immediately, the report stated.

When the woman went to retrieve the rings later, she found that they had gone missing, the report continued. She and several students who work there searched the entire shop but were unable to find the rings. The report lists the value of the rings at $500.

Handgun Reported Stolen

A 9mm handgun was reported stolen from an apartment in the 17500 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, according to police. The owner, a 61-year-old Tinley Park man, said the gun was kept in a green, nylon duffel bag in his bedroom, the report stated.

The last time the man saw the gun was on Jan. 16, according to the report. He noticed it was missing on March 1 and searched his apartment for several days before reporting it to police. The gun is silver with a black grip.

Customer, Bouncer Tussle at Durbin's

Police responded to a report of a fight at Durbin’s, 17265 Oak Park Ave., according to police. When officers arrived at about 3:37 p.m., they found a bouncer had pinned a customer to the ground. The pinned man was rolling around and trying to escape, the report stated.

The customer spoke with police first and said the bouncer suddenly hit him in the face while they were talking, according to the report. The bouncer told police the man had been antagonizing him. He became concerned when the customer pulled a black object from his pocket and decided to restrain him, the report stated.

The customer was asked not to return Durbin's. No arrests were made.

FRIDAY, MARCH 8

Car Vandalized in 80th Avenue Metra Lot

A 49-year-old Tinley Park woman who parked her car in the 80th Avenue North Metra lot early in the morning of March 8 returned later that day to find it damaged, according to a report.

The 1999 Toyota Camry was left locked at about 7:30 a.m, the report stated. When the woman returned at 12:30 p.m., she found someone had damaged the trunk, roof and hood with a knife or some other sharp object. She told police on March 11, when she filed the report, that she believed her ex-husband could be responsible.
