Man Surrenders Peacefully after Standoff in Tinley Park

No one was harmed in the standoff Tuesday evening.

A man was taken into custody Tuesday night after an hourlong standoff that stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Police were called to the residence 6900 block of Margaret Courtyard around 5:30 p.m. when the man and his wife argued, leading to the woman leaving the home. The wife alerted police that she worried her husband might harm himself, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Police contacted the man via phone, and talked the man out of the house shortly after to surrender.

Weapons were found in the home, but the man was not in possession of any at the time of his surrender.
