This week’s fugitive focuses on Hector Mendoza, who is wanted on a warrant for aggravated criminal sexual assault.

According to the charge on the Cook County Sheriff’s Police website:

“The then 16-year-old victim and then 29-year-old Mendoza were neighbors, and had mutual friends, including the victim’s brother. On January 14, 2010, Mendoza gained the victim’s confidence and they began a sexual relationship. Shortly thereafter the victim became pregnant with Mendoza’s child. The victim’s father took her to a family’s home in Texas to get her away from Mendoza, but Mendoza went to Texas and brought her back to Chicago, where he continued their relationship. The victim’s father filed a police report in July 2010, and Mendoza turned himself in. He subsequently jumped bond.”

Mendoza, 33, is a male white Hispanic, 6-feet, 2-inches. He has black hair and brown eyes. His last know address was in the 200 block of East 22nd Street in Chicago Heights.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police caution the public not to attempt to detain or apprehend fugitives, but to call 911.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts or activities of Hector Mendoza is encouraged to call 708-865-4902 or email sheriffspolice@cookcountyil.gov.
