Midlothian Man Arrested in Connection With Burglary

Roger Larry Crawford, 22, was charged Thursday with residential burglary after he and another man broke in to a house near 168th Street and New England Avenue on Wednesday night, police said.

A Midlothian man was charged with residential burglary Thursday, Sept. 13, after , reported.

Bond for Roger Larry Crawford, 22, was set at $100,000. The second suspect is still at large, according to police.

A resident returning to her home near 168th and New England just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, noticed the door of the house open and a light on, police reported. She also saw that some items had been disturbed and went to a neighbor's house to call police, the report stated. She then saw two people running from her house, the report continued.

The break-in resulted in a manhunt for Crawford and his accomplice—one that involved road blocks throughout the area, a Chicago police helicopter and help from Orland Park, Oak Forest and Cook County police officers. A community alert also was issued via e-mail to residents.

Crawford was taken into custody Wednesday night. The time and location of Crawford's capture was not given in the report.
