Oak Forest Teen Gets Probation for 2011 Crash That Killed Tinley Girl

Deandre Wolfe, 17, pleaded guilty last week to aggravated DUI in the May 2011 accident that killed Annabella Loerop, 4, Sun-Times Media reports. Along with probation, Wolfe faces a fine and is required to do community service.

An Oak Forest teen received probation, a fine and is required to perform community service after pleading guilty to aggravated driving under the influence in a 2011 car accident that killed a Tinley Park 4-year-old girl, according to a Sun-Times Media report.

Deandre Wolfe, 17, was charged originally as an adult in 2011 and faced a count of aggravated DUI and a count of reckless homicide. However, Wolfe, who was 16 at the time of the accident, pleaded guilty June 13 only to the aggravated DUI charge, Sun-Times Media reports, citing a spokeswoman from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

The sentence, handed down by Circuit Court Judge John Hynes, includes two years’ probation, 480 hours of community service and a $1,989 fine, the spokeswoman told Sun-Times Media.

On May 9, 2011, Annabella "Bella" Loerop was chasing after a ball in front of her home in the 6500 block of 175th Street when Wolfe hit her with his car, according to Tinley Park police. She was pronounced dead at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest about 90 minutes later, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

According to media reports in 2011, Wolfe allegedly had traces of marijuana in his system and was speeding through a school zone before the crash.
