Police Blotter: 15 Stolen Credit Cards; a Bloody Bar Fly

Tinley Park police reports, June 8, 12, 15-16.

THURSDAY, JUNE 16

15 Stolen Credit Cards

A 61-year-old woman, of the 17600 block of 70th Court in Tinley Park, reported that between 10 p.m. June 15 and 7 a.m. June 16, someone broke into her unlocked vehicle. The 2007 Chevrolet Impala was parked in her driveway, she said. Missing was her wallet which had in it her bank card, $20 in cash, a Harris Bank debit card, Disney Visa card and 15 department store credit cards.

Loaded Baby Bag Snatched

A 28-year-old woman, of the 6100 block of Laura Lane in Tinley Park, reported that between midnight and 1 a.m., someone had entered her unlocked vehicle, which was parked outside her home. She was alerted to the situation when her dog started barking. A baby bag was stolen from the car, she said. In it were two paychecks made out to the woman's husband, keys to her vehicle and house, $20 cash, a Blackberry cell phone and Citi Mastercard. Other items from the bag were found on her neighbors' lawns, the woman said.

Ransacked Car

A 28-year-old man, of the 7400 block of 163rd Street in Tinley Park, reported Wednesday that between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. June 14, his car had been broken into while parked in the 9400 block of 179th Street. The driver's side window was shattered and a black bag with a checkbook, as well as a small set of DeWalt tools was missing.

SUNDAY, JUNE 12

Bloody Bar Fly

When police got to J.W. Hollsteins Saloon, 17358 Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park, around 2:30 a.m., they found a 31-year-old man, lying on the sidewalk, bleeding from his nose and mouth. They learned that the man was notorious for starting trouble at local bars and had been yelling at that saloon that he was a "disciple gang member," according to the report. Police are reviewing surveillance footage of the incident and charges may be filed after an investigation.

Five Finger Discount: Tent and Battery

Police were called to Super K-Mart, 16300 Harlem Ave., in Tinley Park, around 8:50 p.m. for a report of a retail theft. Loss prevention officers said two women had stolen a Die Hard car battery as well as a Northwestern Territory front porch tent. The items totaled $314.98.
