SUNDAY, FEB. 27

That's Not the Passing Lane

Kevin G. Flynn, 36, of the 7700 block of 161st Street, Tinley Park, was charged with drunken driving, speeding and improper passing, police said. Police said they stopped Flynn’s car at around 2 a.m. near 167th Street and Oak Park Avenue for speeding and crossing into oncoming traffic lanes to get around another car.

Man Turns Self in After Threats

Dennis P. Connors, 51, of the 10300 block of Trumball Avenue, Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct around 7 p.m. at the Tinley Park police station, police said. Police said Connors turned himself in after making verbal threats the day before to another man.

SATURDAY, FEB. 26

Drunken Driver Stops in Intersection

John D. Rumbaugh, 21, of the 17500 block of Cloverview Drive, Tinley Park, was charged with drunken driving and disobeying a traffic control device, police said. Police said Rumbaugh’s car came to an abrupt stop at 163rd Street and Harlem Avenue around 1:30 a.m., stopping with both front and rear tires over the white line, blocking part of the intersection’s traffic. He was pulled over on 167th Street, west of Oak Park Avenue, according to the report.

FRIDAY, FEB. 25

More DUIs

Dominique A. Murray, 21, of the 2800 block of Cambridge Lane, Olympia Fields, was charged with drunken driving, speeding, driving without insurance and disobeying a traffic control device, police said. Police said they stopped Murray’s car at around 1:45 a.m. near Oak Park Avenue and 183rd Street for speeding, swerving between lanes and stopping with both tires over the white line at a stop light.

Child Endangerment

Erika K. Brown, 24, of the 7100 block of 166th Street, Tinley Park, was charged with child endangerment around 1:30 p.m. in the 16500 block of Harlem Avenue, police said. Police said Brown left a 2-year-old unattended in her home.

MONDAY, FEB. 21

Sold Cigarettes to Minors

Dahlah M. Khaled, 25, of the 11300 block of Mason Avenue, Oak Lawn, sold a pack of Newport cigarettes to a 17 year old around 7 p.m. at Tobacco Plus, where he works, police said. He was charged with a local ordinance violation.

Three hours later, Melissa Spice, 49, of the 4400 block of 124th Street, Alsip, was charged with a local ordinance violation. Police said she sold a pack of Newport cigarettes to a 15 year old at the 7-11 where she works, police said.

Sunday, Feb. 20

Drunken Driving and Marijuana Possession

Eric Gustafson, 35, of the 17400 block of West 71st Court, Tinley Park, was charged with speeding, driving under the influence and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop between 84th Avenue and Lincoln Highway, police said.

SATURDAY, FEB. 12

Driving With No Lights at 2:45 a.m.

Robert M. Madia, 24, of the 16200 block of Princeton Avenue, Tinley Park, was charged with drunken driving, violating the median, improper lane usage, driving in the wrong lane and driving without lights, police said. Police said they stopped Madia’s car at around 2:45 a.m. near 84th Avenue and 159th Street. for a slew of traffic-related offenses.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 9

Battery Filed

Ramiro Esparza, 21, of the 8100 block of Wheeler Drive, Orland Park, was charged with battery. Police said Esparza punched a man inside a restaurant on Feb. 1.

Car burglaries, thefts, damages reported:
  • A purse containing several debit and credit cards was stolen from a 2004 Ford minivan in Aurelio’s parking lot at 159th Street and Oak Park Avenue sometime between 5 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 18, police said. Police searched the area and found a different purse belonging to a woman who reported a similar burglary earlier that evening, that burglary in the Chuck E. Cheese's parking lot on Harlem Avenue. A social security card and driver’s license were taken from the second purse, police said.
  • An Indiana license plate, numbered 723LKC, was stolen from a car parked outside the Tinley Park Hampton Inn sometime between 11 p.m. on Feb. 22 and 7 a.m. on Feb. 23, police said.
  • Construction equipment, tools and a paint sprayer were stolen from a 1998 Ford Econoline van parked outside Comfort Suites sometime between 9 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 25, police said.
  • An Apple iPod touch, GPS system and calculator were stolen from a 1992 Lexus 300 Series parked in a driveway in the 8300 block of 165th Street sometime between 11 p.m. on Feb. 25 and 11:45 a.m. on Feb. 26, police said.
  • A 2010 Dodge Challenger, license number K399072, was stolen outside a restaurant in the 7100 block of 171st Street just past midnight on Feb. 24, police said.
  • Credit cards were stolen from a 1997 Plymouth Voyager parked outside a gym in the 16500 block of Harlem Avenue sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Feb. 23, police said.
  • The front driver’s side window of a 1992 Dodge Ram pickup parked in the 17600 block of Oak Park Avenue was broken sometime after work-hours between Feb. 20 and Feb. 21, police said.
