Home Burgled

Someone broke into a home on the 7900 block of 164th Place between 7 and 8 p.m. Dec. 1, stealing cash out of the resident's wallet, police said. The resident noticed the crime when he realized he had forgotten his wallet, returning to his unit to get it, police said.

Tuesday, Nov. 30

Jewelry Stolen

Someone broke into a home on the 16600 block of Lismore and stole $38,000 worth of jewelry, including wedding rings, between 9 p.m. Nov. 27 and noon Nov. 30, police said. When looking for signs of forced entry, the owner later found the basement escape window had been pushed in and the frame was bent, police said.

Saturday, Nov. 27

Morphine Possession Charges

Brian Cunningham, 20, of the 6400 block of 181st Place, was arrested at about 11:20 p.m. Nov. 27 in the parking lot of the Tinley Park Convention Center and charged with possession of morphine, police said.

Friday, Nov. 26

Argument in Street

Ariel Johnson, 21, of the 15000 block of Page Avenue, Harvey, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, for driving on a suspended license, police said. Police said they initially stopped her because she had pulled over in the middle of Oak Park Avenue at West Point to argue with her boyfriend, who was walking beside her vehicle.

Counterfeits Detected

A man attempted to pay for about $71 of merchandise at 9 p.m. Nov. 26 at Menards, 6851 159th St., with what turned out to be a counterfeit $100 bill, police said. The man, who was not charged with any crime, paid with a different $100 bil, police said. He said he did not remember how he received the bill in question, police said.

Train Ticket to London Purchased

Someone used a Tinley Park woman's debit card information to buy a $249 train ticket from London, England, on Nov. 23, police said.
