Police Blotter: Drive-by Paintballing; Vanishing Van

SUNDAY JUNE 26

Missing Whip

A 34-year-old Chicago woman called police around 10 a.m. when she was told her 2008 Audi was missing from International Imports, 8021 W. 159th Street in Tinley Park, where she had dropped it off for service. Employees said it was last seen on June 23 when it was moved to the business' detail shop.

Stolen 18-Speed

A 48-year-old man reported that some time between June 15 and June 26, his bicycle was stolen from the 17500 block of Cedar Lane in Tinley Park. It was a an 18-speed, 24-inch men's bike with a steel frame and front suspension, the report said. It also had alloy rims. The man said he bought it June 12.

Vanishing Van

A 37-year-old man, whose silver 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette Van was parked in the 5900 block of Lake Bluff Drive in Tinley Park, reported that some time between 4 a.m. June 25 and 9:50 a.m. June 26, someone stole his vehicle. The license plate number is X431519, according to the report.

SATURDAY, JUNE 25

Drive-by Paintballing

A 51-year-old woman told police she was startled early Saturday when she awoke around 3 a.m. to hear a pounding noise coming from outside her home in the 16700 block of Westwind Drive in Tinley Park. Around 11 a.m. the next day, she found three yellow paintball marks on her overhead garage door, she said in the report. Police also said the back left tire of her car had been punctured with a "knife or sharp object."

Driving Under the Influence

Daryl R. Burt, 26, of the 18900 block of Richard Avenue in Mokena, was arrested around 3:40 a.m. in the 18000 block of Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park, police said. He was charged with speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 and improper lane use. When Burt was tested around 4:20 a.m. at the police department, he blew a .226, according to the report. His bail was set at $1,000.
