Police Blotter: DUIs, Unknown Liquid Poured on Impala, Graffiti

SUNDAY, AUG. 7

Driving Under the Influence

Sean P. Faherty, 23, of the 300 block of Hayes Avenue in Romeoville, was arrested around 12:20 a.m. in the 17600 block of North Harlem Avenue and charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane use. Police said they pulled over Faherty after they saw him swerving in the roadway. He denied drinking that night, but blew a .178, according to the report. His bail was set at $1,000.

Tires Flattened

A 21-year-old man, whose 1979 Buick LeSabre was parked in the 15900 block of Olcott Avenue, called police around 1:15 p.m. after he found that two of his car's four tires were deflated. Police said they didn't find any punctures in the tires. The man said he believed the tires were flattened between 3 p.m. Aug. 6 and 1 p.m. Aug. 7.

SATURDAY, AUG. 6

Driving Under the Influence

Alfred C. Thomas Jr., 29, of the first block of Centerview Street in Kankakee, was arrested around 12:10 a.m. in the 17600 block of North Harlem Avenue. He was charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Thomas told police he'd "drank a lot of Crown Royal," according to the report. They said he had a blood-alcohol content of .255. His bail was set at $1,000.

Unknown Liquid Poured on Impala

A 27-year-old man, whose 2009 Chevrolet Impala was parked in the 16700 block of Lakewood Drive, said that sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m., someone poured a strange liquid all over his car. The man said he thought the liquid was gasoline or something else flammable, and he feared that someone tried to light his car on fire. The Tinley Park Fire Department responded to the scene to wash the liquid off, the report said.

THURSDAY, AUG. 4       

Graffiti

A 32-year-old woman living in the 9100 block of Kinsale Drive said that between 10 p.m. Aug. 3 and 7:20 p.m. Aug. 4, someone defaced the back of her brick residence with spray paint. Police said the black paint read "Craw Killa" with the word "no" written below it.

MONDAY, AUG. 1

Man Allegedly Uses Racial Slur

Anthony J. Palaggi, 19, of the 17400 block of Chestnut Drive arrested after a witness reported that he was arguing around 4 p.m. with a woman in the parking lot of Carson Furniture Gallery, 66 Orland Square Drive, in Orland Park. The witness tried to stop the argument when Palaggi used a racial slur and swore at the witness, police said. Palaggi was charged with disorderly conduct and was released on bond.

Missing Hubcaps

An 18-year-old man, of the 9400 block of West Quail Trail, called police to report that between 2:15 a.m. and 7 a.m., someone stole four hubcaps from his 2011 Honda Civic.
