Police Blotter: Frankfort Man Accused of DUI, 5 Guns Go Missing, and More

Also in today's blotter reports, which stem from March 31 and April 7-8, two are arrested on warrants in unrelated incidents.

SUNDAY, APRIL 8 

Retail Theft Warrant

Mark Rideaux, 50, of the 6200 block of South Eberhart Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. at the Cottage Grove Police Department on a failure-to-appear warrant out of for retail theft. 

Man Arrested Outside Durbin's on Warrant 

Matthew L. Marcordes, 23, of the 6100 block of Victoria Drive in Oak Forest, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. outside Durbin's 17265 Oak Park Ave., , on a failure-to-appear warrant. Police were called to the scene to investigate an argument, they said. Marcordes' bail was set at $3,000.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7

Frankfort Man Accused of DUI 

arrested a Frankfort man Saturday night after they got a tip from another driver saying he was "all over the roadway" near the intersection of Oak Park Avenue and 171st Street in , they said.

Officers said the man, Carlos J. Davila, was driving suspiciously—at one point, hesitating to start moving after a traffic light and crossing over the center lanes, and another, making a U-Turn on Oak Park Avenue. 

When they asked Davila, of the 19500 block of South Skye Drive, where he was coming from, he reportedly told them, "work in Summit." They said his eyes were bloodshot and watery.

He failed field sobriety tests, according to the report, and blew a .158 on the Breathalyzer. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08 and improper lane use. His bail was set at $3,000.

SATURDAY, MARCH 31

5 Guns Go Missing

A local man reported at the end of march that five handguns were missing from his home after a suspected break-in.

The resident, who lives in the 6600 block of 165th Place in , said the burglary occurred overnight while he was at work. He returned around 10 a.m. March 31 and found that his back door had been pried open, according to the report. 

Police ensured no one was inside the ranch-style home before entering, they said. The homeowner walked around with officers and discovered that two handguns—a .45-caliber Para Ordnance and a .45-caliber Colt 1911— that were wrapped in a blanket on a top shelf of a closet were missing. Several shotguns in the same area were left undisturbed, police said.

In an office area of the home, someone dismantled a web cam from the computer but didn't steal it. Three guns were missing from the room. One was a Para Ordnance .45-caliber ACP, one was a 9mm semi-automatic Smith and Wesson and one was a .22-caliber Ruger.

"(The victim) said the guns were all unloaded," the report said. "There were several boxes of ammunition laying around the residence but (he) was positive noe of it was missing."

The resident said he lives alone and recently started buying guns on gunbroker.com. The toal value of the missing weapons was around $2,700, the report said.
