Police Blotter: Man Being Sobriety Tested Tells Cops 'I Couldn't do That if I was Sober'

Warrant Arrest
Lisa L. Jackson, 31, of the 15200 block of Chicago Road in Dolton, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of 183rd Street and 80th Avenue in Tinley Park on an active warrant out of the Homewood Police Department. Police said she was also charged with driving with a suspended license. They discovered both the warrant and the suspension after Jackson's car was allegedly struck by another vehicle.

Aggravated DUI
Steven J. Kogut, 40, of the 22700 block of Ravisloe Lane in Frankfort, was arrested around 1:40 p.m. at an unspecified location. He was charged with aggravated driving under the influence.

"I Couldn't do That if I was Sober"
After an officer demonstrated the "one leg stand" field sobriety test for a reported drunken driver, the driver told them "I couldn't do that if I was sober," police said.
William J. Broderick, 55, of the 200 block of Julia Street in Lemont, was pulled over around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Oak Park Avenue and 67th Court. Police said that they saw Broderick swerving over the lane lines, stop at an intersection where there was no stop signs or traffic lights, and drive through an intersection that had a stop sign.
He told officers he was coming from a hockey party where he'd had "a couple of beers while watching the 49ers game," according to the report. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests after telling police, "I couldn't' do that if I was sober."
Broderick was driving on a ticket for expired registration, officers said, and he refused to give a breath sample while at the .
He was charged with disobeying a stop sign, improper lane use and driving under the influence of alcohol. His bail was set at $3,000.
