Police Blotter: Man Threatens Woman in Pancake House Lot, Catalytic Converter Jacked From KinderCare Bus

MONDAY, SEPT. 12

Catalytic Converter Jacked From KinderCare Bus

A staff member of KinderCare Learning Center, 9460 W. 179th St. in , called police to report that sometime between 6 p.m. Sept. 9 and 7 a.m. Sept. 12, someone cut the catalytic converter out of one of the school's buses. It was valued at $1,000.

Stolen Bicycle

A woman reported that sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., someone stole her son's bicycle from outside their home in the 8100 block of Brookside Glen Drive in Tinley Park. The red and white Diamondback Viper BMX bicycle had spoke wheels, silver rear pegs and a missing chain guard.

Pot Possession

Nicole L. Dent, 32, of the 7000 block of South Merrill Avenue in Chicago, was arrested around 3 p.m. and charged with driving a vehicle with no taillights or brake lights, possession of marijuana, failure to notify the Secretary of State of an address change, driving on a suspended license and obstructing identification. Police said they found "crumpled up joints" in Dent's pocket when she was searched at the station.

Man Threatens Woman in Pancake House Lot

A 36-year-old Palos Hills woman called the cops around noon after she said a man driving a large sport utility vehicle tried to hit her after she parked her motorcycle at Blackberry Pancake Restaurant, 9536 W. 179th St., Tinley Park. Just after she got off the bike, the man, driving a grey Ford Fusion, pulled up and wanted to park in her spot, according to the report. The woman signaled the man to an adjacent spot that was unoccupied. He then whipped into the neighboring space, forcing the woman to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. She made the comments, "Who does this? What a moron," the report said. The man then walked rapidly toward her with his arms at his side and fists clenched, according to the report. "She said the man said, 'If you're going to act like a man, you are gonna get treated like a man,'" the report said. The woman signed complaints and police are working to find the offender.
