Possession of a Controlled Substance

Joseph L. Valek, 24, of the 6600 block of Glenview Drive in , was arrested around 11 p.m. in the 7200 block of Harlem Avenue. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Pellet Gun Damage

A 51-year-old woman, who parked her 2006 Hyundai Sonata in the 8900 block of 174th Street in Tinley Park, called police to report that between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., someone shattered the driver's side, front window of her vehicle. Police said they believed someone shot the window with a pellet gun. They found a round hole in the shattered glass.

Fence Knocked Down

A man living in the 17100 block of South Valley Drive in Tinley Park, called the cops to report that between 10:30 p.m. and 10:35 p.m., someone knocked down a 6-foot-long section of his fence. He said he believed he knew the culprit, but hadn't yet signed a complaint as of Tuesday at 6:40 p.m.

Skate Park Spray-Painted

Police said that sometime between 5 p.m. Aug. 27 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 28, someone used silver and gold spray paint to vandalize the Walker Skate Park, 19900 80th Ave. A spray-paint can was left behind but police weren't able to gather evidence from it because several people had touched it by the time they got there.
