Police Blotter: Prowler, Possession with Intent to Deliver

THURSDAY, AUG. 4

Teen Kicks Landscaping Lights

A 43-year-old woman, of the 8500 block of Koehler Drive, said that around 2:30 a.m. she heard a loud noise outside and looked to find a tall teenager kicking and breaking her landscaping lights. She turned the lights on and he ran from the home, heading south, she said. A dozen lights were broken, according to the report.

Pellet Gun Fired

A 54-year-old man, of the 17000 block of South Forestview Drive, said that between July 24 and Aug. 3, someone shot two front windows of his home with a pellet gun. Police said two holes were found in the windows—both in the outside pane of glass—and a copper pellet was found in between the two glass panes. The homeowner said he hadn't noticed the damage because the blinds were drawn.

Wallet Stolen

A 20-year-old woman was working out at LA Fitness, 18400 Convention Center Drive, between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. when someone stole her wallet, according to a police report. The wallet was near her while she was in the gym, she said. She told police she was talking to a friend, who had two of his friends in tow, before she noticed the wallet was missing. She said she believed one of the friends grabbed the wallet and used it at the Speedway gas station on 183rd Street, where she learned an unauthorized purchase had been made. She got surveillance video of the purchase and police contacted the two suspects. One of them said he was given the card by someone else who owed him money. No charges had been filed as of Thursday around 3 p.m.

Patio Door Shattered

Police were called to a home around 7 p.m. in the 17500 block of West Quail Drive after a resident called and said he was in his home and heard glass breaking. He found that his patio door had been shattered by an unknown object. He did not see or hear anyone at the time, according to the report.

TUESDAY, AUG. 2

Two Purses Snagged from Car

A 40-year-old woman parked her Honda Pilot in the 17100 block of South Shetland Drive between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2. During that time, she said someone broke into her car and stole two purses containing credit cards, identification cards, $80 in cash and a cellular phone.

Prowler at Door and Windows

A 50-year-old woman living in the 17500 block of Pheasant Drive called police after she spotted a man around 12:45 a.m. crouching down near a neighbor's car. When the man saw her, he ran away. A few minutes later, the woman was inside her home and heard knocking on her back patio door, according to the report. "(She) said she went downstairs in her kitchen and heard the knocking coming from the basement windows for approximately 10 minutes before he ran away." Officers found that two plastic covers from the window wells had been removed, the report said.

MONDAY, AUG. 1

A Fraudulent Prescription

A 32-year-old Chicago doctor called police around 1:20 p.m. after she realized a prescription for Vicodin had been called in under her identification number to the CVS at 9551 W. 171st St. The woman said she did not have a patient by the name the medicine was filed for. She suspected that one of her ex-employees might have written the fake prescription.

Magic Marker Graffiti

A 68-year-old living in the 17600 block of Westbridge Road called police after noticing that someone had written on her garage door in black permanent marker. Her neighbor told her about the writing, which said, "The system will fall and the people shall reign again! — HU Army," the report said. Police said the "HU Army" is a phrase used by fans of the rock band Hollywood Undead. Similar doodles were found on a garage door down the street.

SUNDAY, JULY 31

Parked Car Damaged

A 28-year-old man, whose 2003 Infiniti was parked in the 7100 block of 166th Street, reported that between 11 p.m. July 30 and 9 a.m. July 31, someone damaged his car. He said the top of the door frame was dented on the driver's side panel and it looked like someone tried to peel the door's rubber away. The incident may be connected to break-ins in the same area that night, police said.

FRIDAY, JULY 29

Battery

Falguni D. Rana, 52, of the 2100 block of Oxnard Drive in Downers Grove, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. in the 7800 block of West 183rd Street and charged with battery. Her bail was set at $1,500.

THURSDAY, JULY 28

Pellet Gun vs. Window

A 44-year-old woman, of the 16900 block of South Elm Lane, called the cops around 3:15 p.m., when she noticed that someone had shot her front 30-inch by 36-inch window with a pellet gun. The woman said she didn't know who shot the window or when, but noted that their home had been egged five times within the last year.

FRIDAY, JULY 22

Criminal Trespassing and Theft

Dale W. Blocker, 22, of the 7800 block of West 171st Place, was arrested around 5:40 p.m. at his home. He was charged with criminal trespassing and theft under $500.

FRIDAY, JULY 15

Possession with Intent to Deliver

Mohmmad I. Musa, 31, of the 6200 block of West 127th Street in Palos Heights, was arrested around 5 p.m. in the 18400 block of Convention Center Drive. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver, police said. Additional information was not available Thursday.

Gassem Sharkh, 25, of the 7300 block of Tiffany Drive in Orland Park, was arrested at the same time and place. He was also charged with possession with intent to deliver.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17

Criminal Damage to Property

Otneil Delgado, 23, of the 18500 block of Walnut Avenue in Country Club Hills, was arrested around 10:50 a.m. and charged with criminal damage to property, theft and domestic battery. Police said Delgado damaged a window of a home in the 7800 block of West 183rd Street during a domestic dispute. His bail was set at $1,000.
