Police Blotter: Stolen Bike; Smash 'n Grab

Tinley Park police reports, June 7.

Stolen Bike

Police said a 47-year-old man reported that his bicycle was stolen from a bike rack at the Oak Park Metra Station, 6682 South St., Tinley Park, between 7:25 a.m. and 5:50 p.m.

Smash 'n Grab

A 35-year-old woman, who was at White Water Canyon Park, 8105 W. 171st St., between noon and 4:30 p.m., reported that someone had broken the front passenger side window of her 2005 Chevrolet Blazer. The vehicle was on the west side of the park's parking lot, facing the basketball courts. The woman's handbag was the only item missing from the truck, she told police. A cosmetic case, $350 cash, a watch and several credit cards were inside.

A Fraudulent Check

Police were called around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday to First Midwest Bank, 9400 W. 179th Street in Tinley Park, for a fraud report. A woman had entered the bank around 10:45 a.m. Monday and cashed an invalid check, employees said.
