Thieves Break Car Window for Chump Change

Police received a report around 7:30 a.m. from a 27-year-old Tinley Park man who said someone had broken the window of his Toyota Carolla overnight. Nothing but change from the cup holder was missing. The car was parked in the 7100 block of 166th Street, near the man's home.

Missing Radio

An 18-year-old man, of the 3400 block of West 161st Street in Markham, reported that sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., someone broke into his 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and stole his radio. The doors of the car were locked, but a window was partly rolled down. The vehicle was parked at Delta Sonic, 6850 W. 159th St., Tinley Park.

Snatched Golf Clubs

A 42-year-old woman, of the 19600 block of Silverside Drive in Tinley Park, reported that between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., someone stole her husband's golf clubs from the couple's open garage. She said painters were working at her home during the time of the theft.

Unauthorized Cash Advance

A 35-year-old man, of the 16800 block of South Cherry Creek Avenue in Tinley Park, called police around 11:30 a.m. after finding a fraudulent charge on his credit card. He said that on June 9, someone used his MasterCard to get a $1,000 cash advance. The man still had the card in his possession.

SUNDAY, JUNE 12

Shattered Car Window

A 22-year-old woman, of the 5300 block of South 155th Street in Oak Forest, reported that sometime between 8:50 p.m. and 10:10 p.m., someone had broken into her 2001 Acura that was parked in the north lot at Kohl's, 7500 W. 191st St. A driver's side window of the car was shattered and the woman's purse was missing. Inside the purse were her identification cards and a Chase debit card, she said.
