Police Blotter: Thieves Caught on Camera; Aggravated Assault Warrant

Also in today's blotter, a son steals his mother's television and a man is charged with burglary to a motor vehicle. Reports stem from April 11, April 29 and May 1-2.

Thieves Caught on Camera

Two men stole two gas-powered leaf blowers off a landscaping truck that was parked in gut 15900 block of South Centerway Walk in . The theft, which occurred around noon, was caught on camera. have a description of the vehicle as well as that of the offenders.

Aggravated Assault Warrant

Cristian Gallardo, 19, of the 15400 block of Myrtle Avenue in Harvey, was arrested around 3:20 p.m. in Blue Island on a warrant out of the for criminal damage to property, aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon.  said the warrant stemmed from a July 2011 incident.

Son Jacks his Mom's TV 

A local woman called the cops to report that she came home around 11:30 a.m. to find her 40-inch LCD television missing. She texted her 26-year-old son, who was recently living with one of his two girlfriends. The son told her he was "borrowing the television and will return it." He had not returned the TV as of May 1. His mother told police she believed her son stole it so he could sell it to buy drugs.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11

Burglary to a Motor Vehicle

Cornelius E. Gilbert, 31, of the 200 block of Leonard Avenue in Chicago Heights, was arrested around 4:20 p.m. at an unspecified location. He was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle.
