Identity Theft Victim Gets $2,050 in Bills
Tuesday, March 22: Someone stole the identity of a Tinley Park man to set up accounts with T-Mobile and Comcast, police said. The man did not know of the crime until he received a call from a collection agency about an unpaid $1,200 T-Mobile bill and later a collection letter from Comcast for about $850, police said.
Tires Slashed at Workplace
Monday, March 21: Someone slashed three tires on a 2006 Chevy Malibu between 5:15 p.m. March 21 and 2:25 a.m. March 22 while it was parked in front of the owner’s workplace on the 8100 block of 183rd Street, police said.
Village-Owned Laptop Stolen
Sunday, March 20: Someone took an $800 laptop belonging to the village of Tinley Park and $20 in small bills from a Ford SUV owned by the public works department between 10 p.m. March 19 and 8 a.m. March 20, police said. The vehicle had been parked in front of a village worker’s home on the 6400 block of 163rd Place, police said.
