Police Charge Pizza-Eating Man With Possession

Officers stumbled upon a drunken man during a recent burglary investigation who they said had illegal drugs in a wallet he handed to them, according to the report.

While responding to an unrelated call, police came across an "intoxicated" man who they said was sitting in front of a residence on 66th Court in , devouring a slice of pizza.

Officers asked the man, later identified as Armando R. Rivera, 42, of the 17200 block of Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park, if he had any identification on him. They were investigating a possible burglary that night—Sunday, July 8—which was later determined unfounded, according to the report. Rivera reportedly pulled out his wallet but told the cops he didn't have any ID.

"I asked Rivera in Spanish if I could see his wallet so that I could attempt to locate his identification," an officer wrote in the report. "While trying to find any identification, I located a small clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance … in plain view next to his money. I asked Rivera what (it) was and he responded that it was cocaine."
