Police Find Man Bleeding After Incident at Charley Horse

A fight at the local bar led to Tinley Park police being called, and reports said one man hit another with a beer bottle and then punched other patrons.

A 26-year-old Tinley Park man was bleeding from his neck Thursday night after he was reportedly struck with a beer bottle while sitting in the beer garden at .

Police got to the bar around 11:15 p.m. after receiving a report that a fight had gone down. The victim, who was seeking medical attention, said he didn't provoke the man who first hit him with the bottle and then punched about five other patrons in the face for no apparent reason, the report said.

"(The victim) stated that he and his two friends … tried to subdue the male subject at which time the physical altercation continued in which all parties exchanged punches," the report said. "(He) further advised that the unknown male had a lot of blood on his face prior to (him) being struck with the bottle."

The victim had a laceration on his neck, but signed off at the scene to refuse treatment.

Others at the bar backed up the victim's story, and a waitress said she believed she knew who was responsible.

She gave police his name and the victim signed a complaint. Charges had yet to be filed on Friday morning, but police are investigating the incident and are reviewing surveillance footage.
