Police Find Potty Torched in Local Park

Tinley police said someone set fire to an outdoor bathroom on 80th Avenue.

Police found ashes and burn marks Sunday where a portable bathroom once stood in Tinley's Frankfort Square Park District.

The heat and flames from the now incinerated porta-potty damaged a fence that housed it, as well as an adjacent, small skate park in the 19900 block of South 80th Avenue. Police said they believed someone set fire the plastic bathroom sometime after 5 p.m. on July 8 and before 7 a.m. July 10, they said.

"The bathroom facility was completely destroyed, no remnants of the facility remained except for the steel bolts that held it together," the report said.

The potty was located on park district property just behind Walker Intermediate School.
