Police: Men Short Change Cashier, Drunken Woman Rear-Ends Car
Also in today's police reports, dated July 16, 18 and 19, someone steals a woman's purse from Portillo's and then tries withdrawing thousands of dollars.

Men Short Change Cashier
Police said two men conducted a "quick change" scam on a cashier at Walt's foods around 3:30 p.m. in which they repeatedly asked him to make change after making small transactions using large bills. The first suspect bought toilet paper, $6.50, using a $100 bill and then asked the cashier to make change three different times. The second transaction was for 7-Up and a third was for toilet paper again. They reportedly short changed the cashier for $110, according to the report. Police have surveillance footage of the incident and it remained under investigation July 24.

Wallet Grabbed at Portillo's
A woman said that while dining at Portillo's, someone stole her wallet out of her purse. She said the thief then tried to make a purchase at a local gas station and withdrawing a combined total of $5,500 from an ATM. The latter transactions were not successful, police said.
The woman said the wallet was hanging on her chair while she ate at the restaurant with friends around 4:15 p.m. It contained $20 cash, a Chase credit card, a driver's license, a prescription card and a Visa credit card. A similar theft recently occurred at the restaurant, police said. Both remained under investigation Tuesday, July 24.

MONDAY, JULY 16
Drunken Woman Rear-Ends Car
Officers recently caught up with a Frankfort woman who they said drunkenly rear-ended another driver on 80th Avenue and drove away.
A witness to the crash followed the tan Ford Taurus being driven by Jillian M. Grannon, 25, of the 7800 block of Farmhouse Road in Frankfort. She had moved from the accident scene—80th Avenue and Cartier—and parked in the 7900 block of Bell Rive Court.
Police said when they approached Grannon July 16 as she was standing beside her car with a passenger. She had slurred speech and admitted to driving away from an accident, according to the report, saying she was reluctant to stop on a busy street.
"It should be noted there are multiple access points to parking lots along 80th Avenue and 175th Street, near the accident scene," an officer wrote in the report.
Grannon reportedly failed field sobriety tests and blew a .120 at the scene. She blew a .100 on the Breathalyzer at the , the report said.
She was charged with failure to give information or render aid following an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without a driver's license on her person.
