Police: Tinley Park Man Wielded Knife Outside Durbin's Pub

A 24-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault after reportedly pulling a 4-inch blade on a bouncer outside the Oak Park Avenue bar and restaurant Sunday.

arrested a 24-year-old Tinley Park man early Sunday after they said he pulled a knife on a Durbin's security guard when he was told he couldn't re-enter the bar.

Kyle D. Martino, 24, of the 17300 block of Valley Drive, was cuffed and taken to the station around 3:20 a.m in the 17200 block of Oak Park Avenue, near the Subway restaurant. He was charged with one count of aggravated assault.

The 31-year-old bouncer who was threatened first approached a patrol officer outside Durbin's, 17265 Oak Park Ave., around 2:45 a.m., according to the report. He told them that while on the sidewalk outside the bar, he was approached by a man later identified as Martino.

"(The security guard) stated that he refused to allow the suspect to re-enter the bar because he was intoxicated … at which point the suspect said, 'I've got something for you,'" according to the report.

Martino then reportedly brandished a black-handled, 4-inch knife.

"(The guard) stated that the suspect didn't motion toward him or say anything else to him while displaying the knife," the report said. "He stated (Martino) then put the knife in his right, front jeans pocket and walked away."

Police found Martino walking with a group of people near Subway, the report said. They said that during a pat-down search, they didn't find any weapons on him. But a knife matching the description the bouncer gave was found near a bench on Oak Park Avenue, according to the report.

Martino was arrested and soon after posted the required 10 percent of his $1,500 bail and was released.
