Police Want to Shed Light on Daytime Burglaries

Tinley Park police are investigating a series of residential break-ins that happened since Jan. 1.

A series of residential burglaries since the new year in Tinley Park has police asking residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity.

Tinley Park police are investigating several home burglaries that happened since Jan. 1, according to a village press release. In these cases, the burglars have forced open either a garage service door or a front door to break in, the release said.

The burglars have gotten away with cash, jewelry and small electronics and targeted the homes' master bedrooms, the release added.

Police say the following vehicles might have been used in the burglaries:

  • a white box truck
  • a silver pick-up truck with a ladder sticking out from the bed
  • a dark-colored Toyota Corolla
Residents are urged to call 911 if they see anything suspicious in their neighborhood.
