Ranch Home Burns on 165th Place

Firefighters responded to a midnight blaze Thursday.

A family was displaced early Thursday after a fire in their raised ranch home in the 7700 block of 165th Place.

An electrical fire ignited in the home's basement around midnight, said Director Pat Carr. The residents weren't injured in the blaze, he said, but they didn't stay the night in the home. It's located at 7746 165th Place in Tinley.

"There was minor damage but a lot of smoke," Carr said late Thursday.
