Saw Snagged; Burglar Tries Raiding Coin Machine

MONDAY, JUNE 18
Saw Snagged
A resident of the 18500 block of South West Point Drive in told police that sometime between 2 p.m. June 17 and 10 p.m. June 18, someone stole a 12-inch DeWalt sliding double compound miter box saw from his garage. The tool had never been used, according to the report.

Landlord's Window Shattered
The owner of a property in the 17200 block of South Oak Park Avenue in called police to report that sometime overnight, someone shattered the north side, lower level window of the residence. He said the tenant is not current on the lease and suspects he may be responsible.

Warrant Arrest
Chassitte V. Cobb, 28, of the 400 block of Danielle in Matteson, was arrested around 9:10 a.m. in Matteson on a warrant out of the for driving with a suspended license. Her bail was set at $3,000.
TUESDAY, JUNE 12
Burglar Tries Raiding Coin Machine
Police said someone tried to steal a coin machine at Tower Car Wash, 15950 S. 84th Ave., . An employee of the business called them saying he noticed scratch marks on the inside of the unit as if someone was trying to access its contents. The machine allows car wash customers to pay with cash or a credit card for services. The burglary attempt occurred between 1 p.m. June 11 and 8:30 a.m. June 12, police said.
SATURDAY, JUNE 9
Scrap Metal Missing
Police said that the owners of a business in the 8500 block of West 185th Street in called around 8 a.m. to report that overnight, someone stole scrap metal from dumpster on the property. The dumpster typically contains about $750 worth of scrap, the report said. The owner suspects it was taken by a man who drove up to the business before it was stolen, asking if he could take the scrap. Police contacted that man and he said he took $100 worth and that it had since been sold.
