The driver, whose name has not yet been released, died before she made her expected run to Brother Rice High School, said Mike Straus, regional vice president for Positive Connections.

"She was starting her morning and hadn’t made her stops yet at all," Straus said.

The driver's coworkers told police that she had been off work due to health issues but returned recently.

The Cook County medical examiner is investigating the cause of death. The investigation into what happened is ongoing, police said.
