Shirtless Man Charged With Assault

The cops were called to a local bar over the weekend where they reportedly found a man outside, shirtless and screaming at staff members.

accused Kenneth M. Akison, 27, of the 4600 block of West 188th Street in Country Club Hills of assault. They said that shortly before midnight, Akison was inside Bailey's, 17731 S. Oak Park Ave., , acting belligerent toward patrons and bartenders. He reportedly swung at a staff member, who decided to press charges. His bail was set at $1,200.

FRIDAY, JAN. 6

Forgery

A woman called after she realized someone had cashed four checks against her account. She said that around 7:50 p.m., she checked her balance online and found that she had insufficient funds. The woman was able to see the checks and said she did not recognize the names or handwriting on them. They were dated between Jan. 3 and Jan. 5, police said.

Window Shattered

Sometime between 10:30 p.m. Jan. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 5, someone shattered the rear, driver's side window of a 2002 Pontiac Montana that was parked in the 8600 block of Brookside Glen Drive in Tinley Park. 

Driver Doesn't Have a Gun, After All

Local cops were called around 10:30 p.m. to help the Illinois State Police find a man who was reportedly armed and involved in an incident on westbound Interstate 80.

The red Buick Lesabre in question was last spotted driving southbound on Harlem Avenue from the Interstate, according to the police report. Police said they found the driver, James M. Adams, around 11:10 p.m. driving through Brookside Marketplace. The details of the altercation on I-80 were not disclosed in the report.

He was taken into custody without incident and admitted to being in an altercation on I-80, police said. However, he said he didn't have a gun in his possession.

A search of Adams' Buick didn't lead police to a weapon, but did lead them to a small stash of marijuana in a piece of rolled up tinfoil, the report said.

Adams, 31, of the 6700 block of West 175th Street in Tinley, was charged with possession of marijuana.
