Someone Snags Bling from Tinley Hotel Room

Police were called to the Holiday Inn last week after more than $1,400 in jewelry was reported missing.

An out-of-towner called the cops last week after he noticed that more than $1,400 in jewelry was missing from his hotel room.

The 60-year-old man, who was staying at the Holiday Inn, 18501 Convention Center Dr., called police around 5:10 p.m., shortly after he saw that a small pile of jewelry was no longer sitting on the room's nightstand.

The bling was stolen from the spot sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.., according to the report. Hotel security officers opened their own investigation of the incident and identified the housekeeper who was cleaning rooms on the victim's floor that day. They also said they'd be conducting a car key reading of the room for the day to see who may have entered the room.
