Mistake 'n Shake? $12,000 Missing at Steak 'n Shake
District manager reports that money has been missing almost every day, according to police.
A district manager for a Tinley Park chain restaurant called police on Wednesday, March 14, after he found a $12,000 discrepancy in the business's account balances.
The Steak 'n Shake manager said the cash has been disappearing since March 5 from the . Since then, as little as $793 and as much as $2,938 has been disappearing almost every day.
"(The complainant) said he's investigating the matter at this time and has optioned deposit slips from their (Orland Park) bank," the report said. "(He) believes that it could be a mistake and is hopeful he will find it.

"(He) does state that if there is fault by an employee or manager, they will prosecute."
The case remained under investigation this week.
