Surprise Credit Card for Together We Cope Leads to Cop Call

A credit card with a $40,000 credit line was opened up for Together We Cope in the name of someone who didn't work at the organization, according to police.

A letter thanking a Tinley Park food pantry for opening a credit card the staff didn't know about prompted a call to police.

Leadership at Together We Cope, 17010 S. Oak Park Ave., received a letter at about noon on Nov. 1 from Dell Business Credit, thanking them for opening a credit car with a $40,000 limit. However, the name on the card belonged to someone the organization had never heard of.

The name, Thomas Lee, did not belong to anyone who worked at Together We Cope, the report states. The organization's president, Frank Trombley, told police that no one had been authorized to open a credit card.
