Teen Accused of Intoxication, Shoving Cop

Tinley Park police arrested an out-of-towner this month who they said became combative during a concert at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.

It recently took three police officers to try calming down a reportedly uncooperative concert goer who police said was intoxicated and screaming profanities at them.

They were first notified of the man, later identified as Henry C. Jahelka, 18, of East Burr Ridge, around 7:05 p.m. June 2, according to the report. Staff at the  on Ridgeland Avenue in said Jahelka was not allowed back through the theater gates after leaving because he was "unable to walk or stand straight."

"They said Henry could not keep his balance while he was walking and repeatedly fell up against cars in the parking lot," the report said. "The security officers explained Henry had been given warnings earlier in the night for underage drinking and disorderly conduct."

Jahelka was escorted by security to the first aid office, where he refused treatment, the report said. An officer was then called to bring him to the security office. The officer did so by wheelchair because Jahelka was unable to walk, police said.

The officer told him he was going to issue him a local ordinance citation for underage drinking. Although he seemed compliant at first, he soon became combatant with the officer, leading him to call a second, and later a third, officer for backup, the report said.

Jahelka was handcuffed and eventually calmed down, the report said. Police said he kindly asked officers to remove the cuffs and they did so.

"Once again, Henry became agitated when (an officer) asked him questions," the report said. "Henry screamed profanities at myself and (another officer) and took a defensive staff, continuing to yell at everyone in the security office."

When a third officer showed to try calming Jahelka down, he became agitated again, the report said.

"Henry stood in a defensive stance and tightened his hands into fists," the report said. "I attempted to grab Henry's right arm to calm him down and have him sit in the chair behind him. Henry turned around and used his open right hand and pushed me back by my neck."

Two of the officers then physically detained Jahelka and took him to the police department. He continually yelled obscenities at officers while in the cell, the report said. He then reportedly blew a .230 on the Breathalyzer.

He was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery to a police officer.
