followed a driver earlier this month after they reportedly saw she and her fellow underage friends get into a car with brown paper bags that they believed contained alcohol.

The green Buick Lasabre left from Tinley Family Food and Liquor, 6800 183rd St.—formerly known as Tinley 24/Seven— just after 11 p.m. March 7, according to the report. There, officers said they watched driver Shannon E. Davis, 18, and two of her friends, receive alcohol purchased by a "middle-aged woman."

The three then got into the car and headed west on 183rd Street, police said. Officers said Davis, a resident of the 4800 block of South Kimberly Court in Oak Forest, swerved twice across lane lines in the roadway. When they stopped her, her eyes were bloodshot and watery, they said.

"I asked Shannon to step out of the vehicle," an officer wrote in the report. "I noticed that Shannon was swaying while she was walking. I asked Shannon on two occasions to please step away from the street so she would not be struck by passing vehicles."

Davis reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. During a search of her vehicle, police found a brown paper bag with a 24-ounce can of Mike's Hard Lemonade init, a 24-ounce can of Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade and an opened 24-ounce Coors Light, the report said.

Davis' passengers, Jessica Halvorsen, 18, and Emily Haywood, 20, were each cited for violating a local ordinance for underage possession of alcohol.
