Teen Sleeps in Bathroom, Harasses Gym Members; Driver Has 6 Vodka Lemonades

Also in today's police reports, which stem from April 7, 10, 15, 28 and May 1, a woman's accused of trying to steal a full grocery cart, a man reportedly violates an order of protection and a woman is charged with defrauding a drug test.

TUESDAY, MAY 1

Woman Tries Stealing Full Grocery Cart

said Chandra I. Richards, 48, of the 8400 block of Meadowsedge Trail in , pushed a cart filled with $378.70 worth of groceries and clothes past the registers at Super Target, 7300 W. 191st St. She was arrested around 5:10 p.m., when police found out she was wanted on an active warrant for retail theft. She was formally charged and is scheduled to appear before a judge June 13.

Teen Sleeps in Bathroom, Harasses Gym Members

Officers issued a formal trespassing warning around 2:50 p.m. to an 18-year-old woman who has been found on more than one occasion sleeping on sofas and in the bathroom at the Bettenhausen Recreation Center, 8125 171st St., .

She was in the bathroom for about an hour on Saturday before park district staff called the cops. The report notes that the woman has been asked to leave the premises before and that she's known for "harassing members while they're trying to exercise." She is not a member of the rec center, according to the report.

Violating an Order of Protection

Scott J. Siwinski, 28, of the 17400 block of Castle Drive in , was arrested around 5:30 p.m. and charged with violating an order of protection. Police said he was intoxicated inside the victims' home. 

SUNDAY, APRIL 15 

Driver Has 6 Vodka Lemonades

Maria C. Denardo, 54, of the 12900 block of Woodland Drive in Homer Glen, was arrested around 1:20 a.m. near the intersection of La Grange Road and 167th Street in .

Police said Denardo was driving erratically, veering across lane lines. Her eyes were bloodshot and watery, according to the report. Asked if she had been drinking, Denardo told police that she'd had six vodka and lemonades, the report said. She reportedly failed field sobriety tests. She was charged with improper lane use, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08.

TUESDAY, APRIL 10

Defrauding a Drug Test

Erin H. Donahue, female, age 28, of 6749 Southpoint in was charged by the Will County Sheriff's Office with defrauding a drug test after she was observed with a 1.49 oz. bottle of scope with a urine sample in it, according to a report.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7

Driving Under the Influence

Police stopped Jeffrey M. Turner, 26, of the 800 block of Brigantine Drive in New Lenox, around 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of 167th Street and Harlem Avenue in .

Officers said they saw Turner swerving about 1 foot over the lane lines while driving southbound on Harlem Avenue. He didn't immediately stop for police when they activated their emergency lights, they said. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and blew a .229 on the Breathalyzer. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08, driving a vehicle with one headlight and improper lane use.
