The victim didn't notice it missing for a few hours and noted that a 19-year-old woman had been working at the nonprofit that day to complete community service. The woman was the only person other than a fellow Together We Cope employee—police said that employee is not a suspect—who entered the victim's office.

The victim said she told the 19-year-old she could borrow a lighter from her and sent her to her office. She returned to find the contents of her purse dumped out inside a large bag underneath her desk. The community service worker used the lighter and then told the nonprofit's staff that she had to leave to call her dad.

She didn't come back that day, the report said. When she spoke with police, the woman denied taking the card. Police were reviewing surveillance footage June 25 where all the purchases were made, they said. A total of $234.10 had been charged on the card in the few hours, according to the report.
