Thieves Steal Hundreds of Items From a Tinley Foreclosure

Tinley Park police are investigating a burglary that may have occurred earlier this month.

A woman filed a police report earlier this month when hundreds of items were stolen from her home in the 16400 block of Nottingham Court in .

The woman hasn't lived in the home since August 2010, according to the police report and it's expected to be foreclosed upon in mid November. The woman said she had not stopped by the residence in a couple of months and when she did, she noticed that many items were missing.

were called to the home on Nov. 2 when a cleaning company was trying to clean the house at the request of Bank of America, the report said.

The woman's possessions had been moved outside for the cleaning, but police made them place everything back inside while she was present.

On Nov. 12, the woman gave police a list of everything missing from the home, the report said.

It included a fax machine, cordless drill, Craftsman table saw and bench, various hand tools, cabinets, $1,500 in Mary Kay products, a Nativity scene, a leather coat, several down coats, formal dresses and more. An entire book collection was missing also missing, along with several expensive office supplies.

The woman wasn't able to give police a specific time frame in which the thefts occurred. The case remained under investigation Sunday.
